Clay Feet began in 2001 as the shared aspiration of a group of ceramic students from the WA School of Art, Design and Media to create opportunities for emerging artists to showcase their work . While based in Perth Clay Feet has evolved to a group of artists living and exhibiting throughout Australia.

We come from all walks and stages of life, with several of us involved in educational centres as students, teachers and technicians. Our work is as diverse as our backgrounds and due to the artists varying expressions our exhibitions display a wonderfully diverse range of contemporary ceramic art.

Clay Feet believes members must have respect for one another’s individual expression, as all are united by their passion for art and the realisation that collaboration is the key to growth.

The group's direction for the future is for
* A stronger exhibiting presence nationally and internationally.
* To continue supporting emerging artists.
* To facilitate professional development for members.
* Raise the profile of ceramics in Australia.

Apart from exhibiting together we also meet regularly to 'show and tell' our work, this allows us to critique others work and bounce ideas of each other in an informal setting. We believe this is really important as once leaving Tafe or Uni you no longer have the feedback which aids the development of your work.
These meetings are also good for sharing knowledge about all things ceramic.

At these meetings we have been lucky enough to have established artists such as Sandra Black, Angela Mellor and Fleur Schell give us feedback, invite us into their studios and show us their work.

Both meetings and show and tell are open to the public.
